{"id":22,"date":"2014-04-08T12:49:41","date_gmt":"2014-04-08T12:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/engotion.eu\/en\/?p=22"},"modified":"2014-06-09T13:08:43","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T13:08:43","slug":"inspection-and-testing-electrical-installations-in-croatia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/engotion.eu\/en\/inspection-and-testing-electrical-installations-in-croatia\/","title":{"rendered":"Inspection and testing of electrical installations in Croatia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Periodic Inspection is a test and inspection to ascertain the condition of an existing electrical installations and to identify any deficiencies against HRN EN 60364 which is the Croatian standard for electrical installations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All non-domestic electrical installations should be subject to a regular programme of testing and inspection to comply with current legislation. You must ensure that all necessary precautions are being taken to reduce the risk of injury or death through electrical failure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are many good reasons for adopting periodic testing. You may need to inspect and test to comply with the HRN EN 60364 or, if you have recently acquired ownership or tenancy of business \/ workplace premises, you may wish to ensure the installation is safe. If you suspect there is a fault or risk of failure, you must take steps to inspect the affected circuits urgently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Inspection and Test Service<\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing a visual assessment and verification of the entire electrical installation the following test procedures are applied, where appropriate, in order to ensure the safety of electrical installation:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Continuity \u2013 to ensure that the earthing is continuous throughout the circuit.<br \/>\n\u2022 Bonding conductors continuity \u2013 to ensure bonding is in place and effective.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ring final circuit continuity \u2013 to test whether or not the ring is complete.<br \/>\n\u2022 Insulation resistance \u2013 to test for any breakdowns in insulation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Polarity \u2013 to check that the installation is correctly wired.<br \/>\n\u2022 Earth fault loop impedance \u2013 to check the Zs of the installation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Earth electrode resistance \u2013 to test the earthing rods (applies to TT systems only).<br \/>\n\u2022 RCD testing \u2013 to check that the Residual Current Device disconnects the supply in the event of a fault.<br \/>\n\u2022 Functional testing of isolators and breakers \u2013 to ensure that they disconnect the supply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Upon completion of the electrical testing, a detailed Periodic Inspection Report is supplied containing the following certification:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Guidance Notes for recipients.<br \/>\n\u2022 Schedule of Inspection and Schedule of Test Results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The engineer who carried out the testing will also talk through the results with you and explain if any remedial work is necessary in order to remedy an unsafe installation.
